Who Am I?

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

Many friends in my life are taking tests and exams these days. I hope it went well for all of you and Good Luck! This made me think about one of the best courses I attended in College. It was a Psychology class on a Saturday morning (!) – Abnormal Psychology. Well, well, well. While my husband was able to sleep in, I sat in school at 9 am but it was so awesome and I enjoyed it. I always said that if I ever go back to school I would love to study Psychology or English. These are the two subjects that interest me the most until this day. Now, are you up for something distracting and funny?

In my Psychology class we had to take and work on many tests. Have you ever heard of the Myers-Briggs personality test? I took this test several times and it is amazing how spot on the result is. I am a INFJ-personality (Introverted, iNtuitive, Feeling, Judging) My husband applauds at this point, because of the “feeling” and “judging”! Once you took the test, you can read a full description on your result as well as how your personality works best for your career and business.

Here are some key-point of my result:

  • “INFJs are deeply concerned about their relations with individuals as well as the state of humanity at large. They are, in fact, sometimes mistaken for extroverts because they appear so outgoing and are so genuinely interested in people — a product of the Feeling function they most readily show to the world. On the contrary, INFJs are true introverts, who can only be emotionally intimate and fulfilled with a chosen few from among their long-term friends, family, or obvious “soul mates.”
  • This one is for you my love: “While instinctively courting the personal and organizational demands continually made upon them by others, at intervals INFJs will suddenly withdraw into themselves, sometimes shutting out even their intimates. This apparent paradox is a necessary escape valve for them, providing both time to rebuild their depleted resources and a filter to prevent the emotional overload to which they are so susceptible as inherent “givers.” As a pattern of behavior, it is perhaps the most confusing aspect of the enigmatic INFJ character to outsiders, and hence the most often misunderstood — particularly by those who have little experience with this rare type.”
  • “Usually self-expression comes more easily to INFJs on paper, as they tend to have strong writing skills. Since in addition they often possess a strong personal charisma, INFJs are generally well-suited to the “inspirational” professions such as teaching (especially in higher education). Psychology and counseling are other obvious choices, but overall, INFJs can be exceptionally difficult to pigeonhole by their career paths.”

Take the test here. It is really amazing. I have found another one here and have taken it. The outcome: INFJ.

Read this funny article about the test. It made me laugh out loud! Also this about what each Myers-Briggs Type does at a party. Enjoy!

What is your personality type? Is it true for you? I would love to hear from you.

My Shit, Us and Him.

Film Review: The Book Thief.

Hello!  “One small fact: You are going to die. Despite every effort no one lives forever. Sorry to be such a spoiler. My advice is, when the time comes don’t panic. It doesn’t seem to help.”  I do love to watch movies. A movie night with…

How I Wear my Hair.

Hello!

It is Saturday and my husband and I have been out and about this morning taking care of some things. I washed my hair this morning and since then I have hair on my mind. I have written about my hair routine already because I think it is a great thing to share tips and tricks on how to get healthy, strong hair. I saw a woman in the store today who had really awesome hair. It looked so good. She seemed so confident while she wore it up in a somewhat messy bun. This made me think about possible different hairstyles or more on how I wear my hair. I have had long hair for many years and I do love the length and my bangs. I can wear it in many different ways which is awesome. I do prefer having my hair up, especially in the summer when it is hot. I want to share the looks that work for me. Enjoy!

The Messy Bun

For me, this is the easiest and fastest way to keep hair out of my face. It is almost like wearing yoga pants at home. This feels like I could not care less how it looks but I feel comfortable and good without trying too hard. Plus, even when going to the theater and dressing up, this bun almost looks like classy-chic I think.

The classy sock (Donut Ring)/Ballerina Bun

I do have a donut ring in medium size and love this look. It’s nice and polished. If anybody asks you if there is a donut ring or sock hiding in your hair, deny it by all means. 😉

The Hipster High Bun

This bun is probably my favorite simply because I like to dress up like a hipster and this hairstyle just goes with it perfectly. Anybody artsy in Berlin I have seen (men or women) wore their hair in a high bun. It just screams that I like it simple,  I probably did not wash my hair in six days but I love life and I love to read and paint awesome pictures. Also that I love to collect journals, erasers and pencils.

The Man Bun

This photo is all over the web so I thought I will share it here just because. Okay, it is fake but I love Donald Trump, not!

How do you like to wear your hair? What works out best for your hair routine ? What products are you using? I would love to hear from you.

Thank you for reading my blog.

Five Things.

Hello and Happy Friday!  I love Berlin. I honestly can say that my favorite part so far is Friedrichshain where a friend of mine lives. She recommended to check out this area but sadly she was working out of town and could not meet us.…

Rest.

Hello!  Do you listen when your body tells you to rest? I am so so tired today. Last night was hell. My husband and I watched a great movie, I wrote articles and then read a bit. Time just flew by, as usual. When we…

Go The-F**k to Sleep.

Hello and Happy Hump-Day!

It is 9.30pm in Germany and I just came out of my son’s room to read him his two bedtime stories. Usually he is in bed earlier but we are traveling and my husband, Emma his daughter and I are sitting in the kitchen, talking, looking at pictures so petit Joel wants to be up and with us of course. And we let him. Because he is cute. But there is just this time at night that I want for myself. To write, research and read. The entertainment program for my son is going on all day and nighttime is me-time.

On a daily basis we do have a somewhat “normal” routine down and I think that this is a good thing for kids, no? It did take some time however and with our traveling schedule it is sometimes difficult but we do manage okay. Things are pretty easy these days as far as bedtime routine goes. (My picky-eater son is eating everything since we are in Germany) I remember how many books and articles I read on babies and raising kids when I was pregnant. Thinking about how I am going to do everything differently and better with my child, you know. And then, well, the baby arrived and things changed completely.  A little tip for anybody who is pregnant or wants to be pregnant: Don’t read too many book on children, breastfeeding and all this good stuff. You don’t know how things will be until your child is born, so don’t sweat it and get yourself all worked-up. Everything will fall into place somehow. Believe me, I worried about everything.

Normally, petit Joel goes to bed between 8 and 8.30pm so I start giving him his dinner an hour before that. He eats whatever I give him these days which is easy. Sometimes a slice of bread with butter and cheese, cucumber slices and something to drink (water mixed with a bit of apple juice). Here in Berlin we have a bathtub and he loves to take a bath with tons of bubbles. This makes him tired. Here, I try to give him a bath after his dinner. Otherwise we take showers together or I just wash him with a washcloth. I wrap him in a towel to dry him off and apply this awesome cream I made. Then I brush his teeth and he starts to wind down. He then picks out two books every night and I read to him. Sometimes my husband does it too – in English. But honestly, I do love to bring him to bed on my own and have this little snuggle-time alone. I read to him every single night, no matter what. He is so used to this routine and I love it. I enjoy watching him being interested in books. [The book ‘Go the F***k to Sleep’ really exists by the way and I did purchase it but when I read it to my son I leave the F-word out obviously]

I love him so much and he is the sweetest when I read to him. All he wants is “another one” and me to stay with him. As soon as I put him in his bed and say good night he totally loses it. [Think The Exorcist here!] He cries and cries and wants me to come back. All I am thinking is, that it is me-time at this point and that he is up in 10-12 hours again. He stops crying after 5-10 minutes and falls asleep. This is it. Our little bedtime routine.

Just in case you don’t want to get the book here is the YouTube clip. The story read by Samuel L. Jackson. Can this get any better? 😉

How do you bring your kids to bed? What is your routine? I would love to hear from you. Any tips on how my son’s crying  every night might stop? Mom’s have to stick together here.

Thank you for reading my blog.
