How to: Banana Cake

This is the most wonderful time of the year, right? There is always so much to eat. Everybody invites one to a delicious Christmas Dinner – and I don’t even mention the family Christmas parties. On Tuesday was my brother’s birthday party on top of it. He asked me to bake my world-famous Banana Cake for him. You guys, this cake is so delicious and easy to make and bake. You won’t feel stuffed after eating it and the texture is nice and soft. Overall- amazingly good! Here is the recipe for you to try. Eat this cake in the afternoon or bring it for dessert after dinner to your next Christmas party! Here is the recipe. Enjoy!

How to: Banana Cake

Ingredients

  • 100g butter (1/2 cup)
  • 3 eggs
  • 250g sugar (1 cup)
  • 1 pk Baking soda
  • 1 pk Vanilla sugar
  • 250g flour (1 cup)
  • 4 ripe medium size bananas
  • 8 tablespoons of sweet whipping cream
  • Chocolate frosting (Blockschokolade)

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven (175 Celsius/347 Fahrenheit)
  2. Before you start, make sure all ingredients have room temperature!
  3. Mix the butter, the eggs, the sugar, the vanilla sugar, baking powder and flour together in a bowl with a mixer until it reaches a creamy consistency
  4. Cut the bananas in smaller pieces and puree with the sweet whipping cream in a separate bowl until creamy
  5. Then mix everything together
  6. Grease a loaf pan (30cm/11inch) with butter and pour breadcrumbs in so the batter does not stick to pan
  7. Pour dough in loaf pan
  8. Bake for 1 Hour and 15 minutes
  9. When cake is still warm poke some holes in top of cake and pour a bit of Amaretto over it
  10. Put frosting on top of cake
  11. Wait a bit until chocolate hardens
  12. Serve!
