How to: Be Grateful.

Hello And Happy Wednesday!

Today is just a great day to write about what I am grateful for. There are just so many going on in my life actually but writing about anything I am thankful or grateful for always makes me feel so good. Later on, I will read all these posts and be so happy about the things I experienced and felt right then and there.

These days I am grateful especially for my health. This is just so important and talking to a bunch of my friends who suffer from serious illnesses makes me feel sad. Everyday I feel grateful to wake up and not be bothered by any medical conditions. How sweet is this? No pills, no radiation, no hospital, no chemo and I am able to walk and talk without problems. I never take life for granted. It is so special and awesome!

Family. I am grateful for my family. I feel so lucky to be married to my best friend. I observed him for a while today at the playground [pretending I am reading] and realized that he is a great father. Life just feels right with him next to me. For my son I have unconditional love as well. Spending my days with both, laughing and smiling and being happy is just the best and brought more happiness into my world than anything else. The little things that money cannot buy. With both of them in my life it is so much easier to find calm and positivity in nearly every aspect. When my son called me mama my heart makes a little jump every time. When my husband called me “my love” the same happens. What I also really like is that we drove around with our roller blades last night as soon as our son was in bed. Roller-blade-date! Made me feel like a kid again. Awesomeness! I am grateful for all of my family. This family is solid, small,  good-hearted and special. All of my family members should never forget that! We only have this one family.

Basics. I am grateful for the basics in my life. Living in a nice house. Building another one, my parents’ house, so much good food and water.

Friends. Friend are important to me. Over the last couple of months I realized again that I only have a bunch of true friends. But this is a good thing. I want to focus a lot on those people in my life who matter and put my time and energy into that. I love it when conversations have depths, when I learn something new from my friends.  Trust, reliability and time should not have any influence on these friendships. There should be no external element polluting this friendship [added by my husband] I have friendships that give me this special, warm feeling. Real friendship is mutual interaction – never one way.  Of course I want to listen to my friend’s problems as well, be there for them and help them when I can. Today I was on my way to meditation class and met the woman [back then, little girl] I sat next to on our first day of school. Karen! We were seven  years old! Wow! It was so amazing. We haven’t spoken in all these years. So of course, needless to say, I did not join the mediation class but walked with her and her cat in the park and we talked and talked and talked. Numbers exchanged and looking forward seeing her again. Instant positive connection! Plus cat.

I am very grateful for my education and what I achieved in life so far. Talking to my friend Karen today, I realized that education is the thing I really strive for and love. Continuous learning is key for me. I am proud of myself to have finished my Bachelor while working full-time. And yes, I was in school during the week until 9.30 pm. If I can do this, you can, too! I am grateful for having had this experience. I realized over the years that I have this ability and knowledge to change anything I want at any time. I am looking forward to new adventures and a Master degree soon!

Time. I am grateful to have time. Whenever I  asked my godmother what she would like to have for her birthday she said Time. I never quite understood, but now, being older I do. I make the best out of every day.
