\u201cI am so small,\u201d said the boy. \u201cYes, but you make a huge difference. What do you want to be when you grow up?\u201d she asked. \u201cKind\u201d, said the boy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat do you think success is?\u201d asked the boy. \u201cTo love,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDo you have a favourite saying?\u201d asked the boy. \u201cYes, I do. If at first you don\u2019t succeed, have some cake.\u201d \u201cDoes it work?\u201d \u201cEvery time,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat do you think is the biggest waste of time?\u201d asked the boy. \u201cComparing yourself to others. I wonder if there is a school of unlearning. Most of the time I wish I had listened less to my fears and more to my dreams,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat is that over there?\u201d asked the boy while pointing at the distance. \u201cIt is the wild,\u201d she said. \u201cDon\u2019t fear it. Imagine how we would be if we were less afraid.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOne of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things. I have learned how to be in the present,\u201d she said. \u201cHow?\u201d, asked the boy. \u201cI find a quiet spot and shut my eyes and breathe. Then I focus,\u201d she said. \u201cWhat do you focus on?\u201d \u201cCake,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIsn\u2019t it odd. We can only see our outsides, but nearly everything happens on the inside,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo many beautiful things we need to look after. Being kind to yourself is one of the greatest kindnesses,\u201d he said. \u201cWe often wait of kindness\u2026 but being kind to yourself can start now,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOften the hardest person to forgive is yourself,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSometimes I feel lost,\u201d said the boy. \u201cMe too,\u201d she said, \u201cbut I love you, and love brings you home. Always. I think everyone is just trying to get home,\u201d she added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDoing nothing with my friends is never doing nothing, is it?\u201d asked the boy. \u201cNo,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI fell and it hurts,\u201d he said and cried. \u201cYou fell, but I have got you,\u201d she said. \u201cEveryone is a bit scared to try new things but we are less scared together. Tears fall for a reason and they are your strength not weakness,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat is the bravest thing you have ever said?\u201d asked the boy. \u201cHelp,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen have you been at your strongest?\u201d asked the boy. \u201cWhen I have dared to show my weakness. Asking for help isn\u2019t giving up. It is refusing to give up,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy teacher said we all need a reason to keep going. What is yours?\u201d he asked. \u201cYou,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have discovered something better than cake,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat is it?\u201d she asked. \u201cA hug. It lasts longer,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSometimes just getting up and carrying on is brave and magnificent,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow do these ducks look so together and perfect while floating around?\u201d he asked. \u201cThere is a lot of frantic paddling going on beneath. The greatest illusion is that life should be perfect. Because it is not. Always be curious,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSometimes I think you believe in me more than I do,\u201d said the boy. \u201cYou will catch up,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA friend of mine never really speaks a lot and I asked him why,\u201d said the boy. \u201cHe said that he often feels that he has nothing interesting to say,\u201d he added. \u201cBut being honest is always interesting. There is never nothing going on,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSometimes all you hear about is hate but there is more love in this world than you could possibly imagine,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIs your glass half empty or half full?\u201d asked the boy. \u201cI think I am grateful to have a glass,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat will happen tomorrow if my friend does not show up?\u201d he asked. \u201cWe don\u2019t know about tomorrow. We will see. All we need to do is focus on the here and now,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen the dark clouds come, keep going,\u201d she said. \u201cWhat do you mean?\u201d he asked. \u201cWhen the big things feel out of control, focus on what you love right under your nose. You! This storm will pass,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe still have such a long way to go,\u201d sighed the boy. \u201cYes, but look how far we have come,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat is your best discovery?\u201d asked the boy. \u201cThat I am enough as I am,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat do we do when our hearts hurt?\u201d asked the boy. \u201cWe wrap them with friendship, shared tears and time, till they wake hopeful and happy again,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDo you have one more advice?\u201d asked the boy. \u201cDon\u2019t measure how valuable you are by the way you are treated. Always remember you matter, you are important and you are loved and you bring to this world things no one else can,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
