Hello and Happy Sunday!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cReading is escape, and the opposite of escape; it\u2019s a way to make contact with reality after a day of making things up, and it\u2019s a way of making contact with someone else\u2019s imagination after a day that\u2019s all too real.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I finished Nora Ephron\u2019s The Most of Nora Ephron<\/em> a couple of days ago and loved it so much that I have to write a quick review about it right away while it is all still fresh in my mind. I bet you watched one of her movies and loved it. When Harry met Sally<\/em>; Sleepless in Seattle<\/em> (I mean, c\u2019moooon! Who does not like this movie?) or You have got mail<\/em> (Meg Ryan in any movie is fantastic!). In Ephron\u2019s book you will find many scripts, essays, early works, short stories and so much more. When I read the script on How Harry Met Sally, I felt like time-traveling when I sat at Kat\u2019s Delicatessen with le husband.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t you love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I am a huge fan of all her food writing and I read Heartburn<\/em> twice. Ephron was an awesome (screen)writer, director, feminist, full of classic jokes, funny, a beautiful person inside and out who lived an unenviable life. It seemed like she had it all. Except perfect health. She died in 2012 of cancer and left many in shock because almost nobody knew of her illness. She also wrote articles for the \u201cNew York Post<\/em>\u201c, \u201cEsquire\u201d<\/em> and many more. Online, you can find good stuff on her early reporting about journalism and politics. I love those famous quotes of her:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf pregnancy were a book they would cut the last two chapters.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cBeware of men who cry. It\u2019s true that men who cry are sensitive and in touch with feelings, but the only feelings they tend to be sensitive to and in touch with are their own.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen your children are teenagers, it\u2019s important to have a dog so that someone in the house is happy to see you.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Overall, it was one of the best books I have ever read and I think Nora Ephron was a great writer and alway so positive. This book is definitely worth going back to and to re-read certain passages. Great read!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
