I am back to my regular writing mood, (not Systemic Functional Linguistics<\/em> MOOD) which feels so awesome. I have read through a plethora of emails I received that just waited patiently in my inbox for weeks now. Readers usually ask me questions via email (info@sometimesraw.com<\/strong>) instead of commenting on the posts directly which is fine. Either way, I love to interact with my slowly growing reader-community being happy that you all enjoy my blog and what I have to say.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I selected a bunch of questions that came up\u00a0and I am okay with to answer. There were some really private ones as well that are actually nobody’s business, hah! People want to know crazy things! [What panties I am wearing, if any? Seriously?] So let’s just get to the questions. Not to the panties. Enjoy.<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you order at Starbucks?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Grande latte for <\/span>Rose (my new\u00a0Starbucks name since Judith bought me coffee every\u00a0<\/span><\/em>Friday morning)<\/i>, and nobody ever gets my name right even though it is not that difficult. Denial? <\/span>Daniale!!!!!!! <\/span>Danial\u00e9.\u00a0<\/span>\"\"<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. What’s one item in your closet you cannot live without?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Easy. Hand’s down: Black jeans.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. One thing people don’t know about me. <\/span><\/strong>That\u00a0<\/span>I was the school’s best athlete in 1992 when I was in 4th grade Elementary School and my name is still on a plaque.\"\"<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. One item on your bucket list.\u00a0<\/strong>Traveling to Australia.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. What food you cannot live without? <\/span><\/strong>I can live without\/or replace any food. Especially with my gallbladder issue. However, what I don’t want to miss is\u00a0<\/span>Vietnamese Pho and Sushi.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n
  6. A quote you love?\u00a0<\/strong>“Never, never, never give up!” – Winston Churchill.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. What music are you\u00a0listening to\u00a0these days?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Alabama Shakes’s\u00a0Album “Sound and Color”<\/em>\u00a0on repeat and shuffle.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Hobbies?\u00a0<\/strong>Really? Reading, writing, blogging, studying, hanging out with friends, talking, eating popcorn, drinking tea and philosophizing\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Pet peeves?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>When someone chews with their mouth open. When someone interrupts me in the middle of a sentence. Texting or sharing things on Facebook while I talk to a person (horrible and rude!); also being on WhatsApp and whatnot. Just turn your damn phone off while you are with someone. (Emergencies excluded obviously) It is so annoying!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Guilty pleasures?<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Red wine, cheese and usually shopping in the “fast lane- less than 10 items” at the supermarket with way more than 10 items.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  11. Do you have a middle name? <\/span><\/strong>I do, indeed. It’s\u00a0<\/span>Elaine.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  12. What was your favorite subject in school?<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0My favorite subject in school was definitely languages.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  13. What’s your favorite drink?<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Red wine forever. \u00a0No Cocktails but Tequila in Mexico. (Don Julio Silver\/Gold)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  14. Favorite book?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Too many actually. I loved Jeffrey Eugenides’ books Middlesex,<\/em>\u00a0Virgin Suicides <\/em>and The Marriage Plot<\/em>. I thought the author Philip Roth<\/em> would be my one and only forever but I am discovering the Canadian authors now and I must say that Alice Munro<\/em> is pretty high up on my favorite list. Along with Haruki<\/em>\u00a0Murakami<\/em> and German Bodo Kirchhoff<\/em> these days.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  15. Favorite color(s)?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Black and white.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  16. Favorite perfume?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>I like Coco Mademoiselle but I rather smell myself naturally.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  17. Favorite holiday?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Martinique. So\u00a0<\/span><\/span>exotic, however, still in Europe and a\u00a0place where I simply had a fantastic and relaxing time.<\/span><\/li>\n
  18. Your education?\u00a0<\/strong>I am currently in a Master program at Carleton University in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies.<\/span><\/li>\n
  19. What languages do you speak?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>I am fluent in German, English and I survive in French.<\/span><\/li>\n
  20. Do you have siblings?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Yes, a brother and a sister.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  21. Favorite TV shows?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>I am not a big TV person. In Canada, I actually don’t even have cable by choice. I do enjoy Human Planet<\/em> on Netflix or documentaries. I also watched the latest episodes of Family Guy or am addicted to Woody Allen. I do not binge-watch anything.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  22. Favorite Breakfast.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0These days I love just a green smoothie and nothing else. First thing I do after I wake up is I drink a glass or two of water. Then I make my smoothie.<\/span><\/li>\n
  23. Activities I enjoy? <\/strong>Exploring Ottawa.\u00a0I love thrift stores and I found a bunch in Ottawa. They are so amazing. I find books, toys for Petit Joel and sometimes even vintage clothes for myself. I also enjoy to find new restaurants and experiencing new food. (no fried food though, duh!)<\/span><\/li>\n
  24. Do you have any goals when it comes to blogging or publishing?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Well, as I mentioned, I would love to blog more but the Master degree is very demanding. I really enjoy blogging and writing and it makes me happy. As far as publishing, I do have at least one book (not proofread) ready to be published but finding a publisher is tough since my book is written in English and I want to publish in Canada but I don’t have residency yet. I am working on it.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  25. When was the last time you cried?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>At the airport in Ottawa.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  26. Two Favorite Movies?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Good Will Hunting and Allen Ginsberg’s Howl<\/em>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  27. Tattoos and Piercings?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Yes. I removed all the piercings a long time ago but never regretted any of my tattoos.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  28. Do you usually follow your heart or head?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>I try to listen to both, however, heart usually wins.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  29. What are you most grateful for in life?\u00a0<\/b>To have the most\u00a0amazing son ever.\u00a0The best thing I ever\u00a0accomplished. I love him so much. He is my everything.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  30. Would you ever just quit everything in a country and start all over in another one?<\/strong> Hell, yes! I did it several times and it becomes easier throughout the years.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
